Sex Advice

Dear Dr. Locker: Is anal sex safe?

Answer from Dr. Locker

Some sexually transmitted disease, like HIV/AIDS, are much more easily transmitted from anal sex then from other types of sex. So condoms are a must! Also, because the anus doesn’t lubricate the way the vagina does, it’s important to use lubrication to make anal sex more comfortable, and to reduce tearing of the anus, or of the condom. Remember, if it does not feel good to you, then you do not have to do it. Only try it if you really want to… and be sure to use condoms.
