Dear Dr. Locker: How long does sex usually last?
Answer from Dr. Locker
Sex research has found that intercourse most often lasts between 3 and 10 minutes, but foreplay lasts about twice as long. To be a great lover, take your time with other things. Learn to be a great kisser, who’s sexually creative, willing to please your partner orally and manually, and be passionate enough so that whether intercourse lasts three minutes or thirty minutes, you’ll both be having fun during that time. Also, many women would be quite pleased to have a lover who offers variety in timing -- sometimes a quickie can be great, and other times, a marathon session hits the spot. By the way: If you want to last longer, I can give you tips for that, too! So read other questions on this site (in the 'sex problems' category and also in the 'orgasms' category) about that.
